From Talk to Action:
Turning Conference Insights into Climate Impact in Central Asia

Join us for the 4th Milk Tea Corner, a special edition of our well-known Tea Corner, with a focus on Central Asia and climate finance innovation.

We will explore a question that is becoming increasingly urgent for policymakers, investors, and climate advocates: how can we translate high-level climate commitments into concrete, bankable green projects? And how do we ensure that this green transition is just for all workers and communities affected by the shift away from traditional energy?

On 22 May 2026, in 30 minutes, we will discuss the transformative outcomes of the Regional Ecological Summit 2026 (RES 2026) held in Astana, Kazakhstan, and how Central Asian nations are building the financial and institutional infrastructure to turn climate policy into action.

We'll examine three game-changing initiatives:

  • the first-ever Regional Investment Portfolio for Ecology and Climate designed to attract global ESG investors,
  • new National Climate Investment Platforms that streamline access to international green finance and Green Climate Fund (GCF) resources, and
  • the Just Transition Strategies being implemented to support energy and mining sector workers as the region pursues carbon neutrality.

Our guest speaker, Aidar Yessembayev, Head of Technologies Commercialization Competences Office at the International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center (IGTIPC), will guide us through these critical developments.

Yessembayev will share firsthand insights into how investment portfolios, national platforms, and transition mechanisms are bridging the gap between global climate funds and local green initiatives, and how de-risking strategies are accelerating the deployment of green technologies across the region.

If your organization is working on climate finance, ESG investment, green technology transfer, just transition planning, or climate policy in emerging markets, this conversation offers a valuable opportunity to understand the innovative institutional and financial approaches that Central Asia is pioneering and how these models might be adapted globally. Whether you're an investor seeking green assets, a policymaker designing climate strategies, or a sustainability professional exploring new partnerships, this session will deepen your understanding of how climate ambition becomes climate action.
